A chemical reaction is a process in which one or more substances are converted into new substances with different properties.
🔹 Examples:
- Magnesium + Oxygen → Magnesium oxide
- Iron + Water + Oxygen → Rust (Iron Oxide)
🔹 Types of Chemical Reactions:
- Combination Reaction: A + B → AB
- Decomposition Reaction: AB → A + B
- Displacement Reaction: A + BC → AC + B
- Double Displacement Reaction: AB + CD → AD + CB
- Oxidation and Reduction (Redox): Gaining/losing oxygen/hydrogen
🧪 Important Equations to Remember:
- Zn + H2SO4 → ZnSO4 + H2↑
- 2H2 + O2 → 2H2O
- CaCO3 → CaO + CO2 (Decomposition)
